Note that you need to be a member of Overton & District u3a in order to join any of these study and interest groups.

Our interest groups are organised and led by our own members and may be monthly, fortnightly, weekly or at random, 'pop-up' intervals, depending on the subject and the wishes of the group leader. They are held at accessible venues, in St Mary's Hall or alternatively at the group leader's or other member’s homes. If the hall is used there may be a small charge. If the group meeting is held in members houses the expectation is that we each put in £1 to cover to cost of light refreshments, heating etc.

What groups are available?

Please click on the group you are interested in - you may find some listed with spaces and some marked full, Please email (via the link) either the Group Leader or the Group's email to express your interest. They way be have spaces or are running a waiting list. Please contact the Groups Coordinator is you think the subject could warrant a second group

The fastest and easiest way is to visit that group's web page (below) and send a message to the Group Leader via the group email address.

How much does it cost?

Your annual u3a subscription gives you access to all groups. Each group is different. Some activities are free, some share costs such as room hire or refreshments, and some activities such as a visit to a local museum or a coach outing are at cost.

Car Sharing We strongly support and encourage car sharing. A reminder to all members. when group members meet in one another's homes or are offered lifts to venues, it is recommended that a contribution towards fuel cost is offered to show their appreciation to their driver

We are always keen to start new groups. If you would like to explore a particular interest in an as yet non-existent group - let’s hear about it!

We will try our best to facilitate setting up any new groups. Places in the groups are sought after so please let the organiser know if you can no longer take part. Also, if you cannot attend a meeting, try to let your group's organiser know in good time - it does make a difference! This is especially the case with lunch clubs as venues can be difficult with regard to numbers.

We have quite a few Groups that are full and have waiting lists. In circumstances where members do not attend their group or reply to emails the group may agree to replace a member with someone on the waiting list.
