A recent meeting for Family History 2 was about pubs that feature on our family trees. One member lives in an ex-pub and was able to give its
history with photographs to illustrate the story.

Another had a pub that existed from 1349 t0 1965 when it was destroyed by fire on Boxing Day with the loss of 11 lives - this made the national press. We learnt a lot about licensing laws, the significance of pub names and signs. the differences between ale houses, taverns and inns.

In fact we had a little of everything except alcohol!
